{"id":709,"date":"2022-06-27T11:17:30","date_gmt":"2022-06-27T11:17:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gistinsurance.co.uk\/?p=709"},"modified":"2022-06-27T11:17:30","modified_gmt":"2022-06-27T11:17:30","slug":"platinum-jubliee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gistinsurance.co.uk\/?p=709","title":{"rendered":"Platinum Jubliee"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Gist (Insurance Brokers) Ltd will be in good company this year celebrating their Platinum Jubilee on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> of July, the company was formed by two brothers Douglas and Reg Gist initially operating from Barclays Bank Chambers before moving into Rockland Place in Well Street, following Reg\u2019s passing in 1968 Douglas continued on his own until his son Jeremy joined him on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> of July 1973 and subsequently as the operation expanded and computers arrived with Jeremy, on the 1<sup>st<\/sup> of July 1976 they moved into their current office in Fore Street, just around the corner from Rockland Place and only three doors away from their original home in Barclays Bank chambers, it\u2019s fair to say that whilst the business has grown and technology moved on a great deal the brokerage hasn\u2019t moved far from its birth place.&nbsp; The company\u2019s original routes can in fact be traced even further back as Jeremy\u2019s grandfather was the local representative for London &amp; Manchester from 1924 and the family have been providing both personal and commercial insurances with a simple maxim, which in todays marketplace dominated by call centres and telephone queuing systems is more relevant than ever \u201cWe won\u2019t keep you hanging on\u201d.&nbsp;
